Staff Meeting: Modern Learning Practices - 24/11/2015
This was a really interactive/collaborative staff meeting run by colleagues who shared their particular skills/knowledge. I've had experience with Kahoot, Active Inspire, and Google Doc voice typing, however i still learnt from my colleagues perspectives and experiences.
Gigapixel was completely new to me, and I see potential for its use in the classroom when teaching in a range of curriculum areas, particularly in Science.
Coding is an incredibly valuable skill to develop as a teacher and a learner. When you understand/develop knowledge of coding the world of digital technology is limitless. I plan on using the Hour of Code with my class during Room 13 time.
Gaming and Cinematic Narrative both have their place in teaching and learning. I can see myself using the cinematic Narrative in the classroom over Gaming.

PD: Golf and Ki-O-Rahi
This was a really great opportunity to learn from an expert Gold player/coach. Shaun establish a strong rapport with the students right from the beginning and had great resources to keep them engaged. Room 29 definitely showed improvement in their skills and knowledge by the end of the lesson!

Staff Meeting - PYP - 15/11/2015
Code Cracker challenge, Number, Backwards written words, and more... a great way to kick off a staff meeting. I thrive on these types of challenges!!!
I have learnt a lot about IB/PYP form Matt, who has previous experience teaching at IB schools in Europe. I valued his input and direction as we went through this task.
Karen and Trinity both contributed their wealth of IB experience primarily from a Berkley point of view.

PD: Turbo Touch
P.E. Turbo Touch and Dance
We learnt a new game today for P.E. It is very fast-pace, easy to learn, and very fun. Kyla (P;E) shared the youtube clip for me to show and discuss with Room 29 before we went out and tried for ourselves.
The staff had a dance practice also to learn more dances for the formal. Very good to refresh and learn.
